Thomas Young Centre in London on the 3rd and 4th September 2019.

Meeting Report
The second annual Materials & Molecular Modelling (MMM) Hub Conference and User Meeting will take place at the Thomas Young Centre in London on the 3rd and 4th September 2019. The meeting will bring together leading researchers in the materials and molecular modelling community from across the UK and beyond. Through a mix of keynote, invited, and contributed talks and posters, the meeting will provide an excellent opportunity for researchers at all levels to learn about the forefront of this important field and to showcase their most recent results.

Users of the Thomas HPC facility are particularly encouraged to attend and to present their most exciting research results obtained on Thomas. Following on from the success of 2018’s flagship event, the MMM Hub Conference and User Meeting will again host an on-site ‘Thomas Helpdesk’, where the team instrumental in Thomas’ operational success will be available to discuss all aspects of this essential HPC resource. Delegates can approach the Helpdesk with inquiries about job submission, scheduling, code compilation, datasets, software installation, disk quotas, data usage and more. Representatives from hardware manufacturers Intel and Lenovo will be on hand throughout the meeting.Physics by the Lake is a national summer school on theoretical condensed matter physics organised by the Institute of Physics (IOP) Theory of Condensed Matter group. It consists of two weeks of high-quality lecture courses by experts in the field, as well as tutorials to give thorough training in solving real problems. There is also a series of after-dinner seminars..
